Clearance and Delivery Procedures in Cameroon

The customs clearance process in Cameroon involves the following steps:

  • Transit Order (TO): Prepare and submit TO with required documents, including commercial invoice, packing list, origin certificate, and sea freight invoice.
  • Transit File Opening: Open transit file and check for completeness and accuracy of documents.
  • DI Import Declaration Report (SGS): Prepare and submit DI import declaration report, which may require pre-inspection by SGS.
  • BESC / ECTN: Obtain BESC / ECTN, a mandatory document for customs clearance.
  • Local Insurance: Procure local insurance, which is mandatory for customs clearance.
  • AVI / Request for Clean Report of Finding: Obtain AVI / request for clean report of finding, which provides an estimate of cargo value and customs duties.

  • Shipping Line Delivery Order (D/O): Obtain shipping line delivery order (D/O) after paying shipping line fees.
  • Truck Loading: Load cargo onto truck after completing all formalities.
  • X-RAY (if required): Undergo X-ray inspection if required by customs authorities.
  • Final Delivery: Deliver cargo to final destination.
